Father Peter Kim, LC ,  RC Women's Chaplain

Fr. Peter Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea.  At an early age his family relocated to L.A., California.  He has one brother who is a Carthusian Monk in Vermont, and four sisters who live across the continental USA.  He joined the Apostolic School of the Legionaries of Christ in 1982, being one of the twelve of its very first students.  He studied abroad doing his Humanities in Salamanca, Spain, Bachelors in Philosophy from the Gregorian University in Rome, and Bachelors in Theology from the Legion’s Pontifical Academy Regina Apostolorum.  He was ordained to the priesthood on December 22, 1996.  He served as Vice Rector of the Novitiate and Apostolic School in Monterrey, Mexico from 1996-2005.  He was then assigned as Rector of the Apostolic School in Ontaneda, Spain.  In November 2006 he was reassigned to Mexico as Rector of the Apostolic School in Leon till May 2008.  After a brief assignment as Vice Rector of La Joya in Mexico City, he ended his tenure in Mexico and was named Vice Rector of the Immaculate Conception Apostolic School in NH in August 2008.  He served there till the summer of 2011 and then assigned to Philadelphia as Superior of the LC community and Regnum Christi Women Section Director.  In 2014 he was also given the role of Regnum Christi Local Director till the arrival of Fr. Scott Reilly in August 2015.  Presently he is still the Superior of the LC community and just passed on his assignment as RC Women Section Director to a lay RC Woman.  He enjoys the nature filled back roads of Main Line Philadelphia, disc golf, reading and loves the people of Philadelphia.
